Network Scanning for Open Ports +Plus
This guide should shed some light on hw to find open ports on your network, what's accessing them, and more...small but useful. If you're a bit confused about what this is meant to do; these commands will show you who you are connected and what port you are using from your network as well as who/what is connected to you and what is being used for that. Section 1: Open/Exposed Ports Start > Run > Type "cmd" (without the quotes) then Hit Enter At the comman line, Type "netstat -a" (without the quotes/there is a space after the 2nd t) The results will give you a list of the listening ports and and who's on the other end of your computer Section 2: More Commands All of the following are to be used at the command line as well... Who is listening? Type: netstat -an List processes: netstat -o Active Connections: netstat -ao |
