Post Dual Monitors: Setup each monitor with a different wallpaper

Dual Monitors: Setup each monitor with a different wallpaper

This little hack will allow you to use different desktop wallpaprs for each of your displays. It's quick, easy, and will allow you to utilize your dual monitor setup "or more" to display multiple images.

> Right click on your desktop, then select properties

> Under the Desktop section, select Customize Desktop, then select Web Tab

> To use an image file located on your hard drive, select New and browse to the file's location.

> Once you've selected the file you want, Click OK and it will appear on your desktop.

> Now, simply drag the image over to the second monitor, and from the image pull down menu in the upper left hand corner, Select Cover Desktop.

> Right Click and select Arrange By and "Lock web items on desktop".

> Now, you can select a standard background for your primary display and use the web object to cover the standard desktop image on your second desktop with the image, or images of your choice.

This was one that I was most definitely happy about, I hope you guys benefit from it as well.

Hi i currently run Windows 2000 professional on my home pc, and at the moment, i am using two monitors, the first one is an Sharps 15" LCD (liquid Crystal Display) Model LL-T15A4-B, the second monitor is a Time 17" monitor, i am running both these monitors through a Ten (chinese make or brand) VS-108 VGA Splitter, and i have tried to follow your guidance on being able to have two different images upon the monitors, but i am not getting anywhere, is it possible with this setup???? thanks :coolp: or can you only achieve this with Win XP ?? would be nice to know

Yah know, I haven't tried to do it on a 2000 machine. I'll have to do some research on it and see. My guess would be yes but the process would be a little more indepth than the above steps. I'll see what I can find.

I'll tell you who to ask in the meantime...punqewe, one of the Admin or even kambodianboi, they may know better than me.

To be honest,I've never ran win2000. I went from windows 3.1 to Linux right to winXP. I skipped over the 'popular' (laughs) win95-98 series and the ever so great for bugs winME.

Prolly the easiest way would be to use a video card that has duel monitor outputs, since they would supply the drivers and software would be included for the card. I tried to look for a manual online, but even the products site doesn't have it available....weird.

I really don't know....sorry.

punqewe

thanks for the reply, but i had a look at that option, a while ago in one of the techie stores i go, you may have heard of them Maplins electronics, and as i run two monitors through a splitter, i came across techs piece of advice about having dual monitors with different desktop pictures on either monitor, and i did try but to no avail and that is why i have asked the same question with yourself, but the video cards that would enable me to do this are a lot of money??? so i will make do with what i have , so to s[peak but cheers m8
