Post How to Shutdown Multiple Applications at Once

How to Shutdown Multiple Applications at Once

This is a very simple way to close multiple applications without going one-by-one.

Step 1: Hold down the Ctrl Key and Click all the application buttons in your systems taskbar. From there, each button will remain selected.

Step 2: Right click any one of the buttons and select 'Close Group'. Now all of your applications will be closed.

NOTE: This comes in handy for restarts and shutdowns.

This can also be done via Task Manager.

Step 1: Select Ctrl+Alt+Del

Step 2: Hold down Ctrl and select the task you wish to close/end. Then select 'End Task'. All current running task will STOP.

VERY SIMPLE STEPS, DONE IN SECONDS...ENJOY!!

Good guide Tech. I use Task Manager all the time, helpful for ending those stubborn, bug filled apps like Nero or video encoders. It's invaluabe once you learn what your system processes are.

Thanks. Yeah, shutting down applications via the System Process tab is by far the most effective IMO. An yeah, it's because of what you said...those apps that have portions of the programming running long after it's been closed. At work, Outlook like to do that to me. Dang You Microsoft!!

Nero Vision and the old crappy Jasc photo shop would love to do that to me as well. It really does work better than a normal close out. If you want to windows to crash, you can always shut down explorer.exe. It's also a good way to manually spot malware. If you know what processes run on your system regularly, you'll instantly spot rogue processes. I also use it before burning DVD's, to make sure everything is closed out.

Yes it's very useful to the trained eye. For all things MS has bungled, this is one they did right.
