Ok now this can be done many ways, So I am going to cover the first two I found on Google. So I hear you ask what is the points of all this well you could just log in to Xbox.com and see who is online but if like me you are not a big fan of the site below you will find other ways to get the info you wish to see.
XBList. You can download it from HERE Ok so before we get down to installing XBList i will have to say it will need .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.0 installed. You can get it from Windows Update or directly from Microsoft. The site also say that XBList runs only on Windows and that XBList may not be compatible with Windows Vista (Sorry Linux users). Ok so now we have it downloaded go right ahead and un-zip the file, At the time of typing this inside the folder all you will see is the XBList installer. Double click on that to start us all off. ![]() Now we have the installer up and running, read all the on screen info and install XBList. After the installer is all done you will need to go to Start/All Programs and find the newly made XBList Link (At this time is you to you but you could send it to the desktop for your ease) ![]() Ok now all that is done, All we need to do now is the last bit of setup. Double click on the new link to start XBList, When it is up and running you will see a screen like the one below (fig 1) say that you are not signed in to Xbox.com. So ahead click the sign in button, Now here is the 1st downfall I have seen it asks you to sign in using IE and not Firefox (So if you are not a big fan of IE this may put you off). When you do sign in remember to click “Save my e-mail address and password” as shown below (fig 2) Fig 1 Fig 2 ![]() So now you are log in you will see that the XBList screen now show all your friends and what they are playing, I have blacked out non XS members. As you can see Sliver Sony in on Burnout ![]() From here you can hover over all your friends names and it will show their Gamercard. By right clicking you can also choose to compare achievements. Time to get our heads around the options. To find the options you need to click the tools tab and from there pick options. Now the options are straight forward on XBlist so it is really up to you on this but the default ones are just right. ![]() Well XBList was easy to set up and I have it all working the way I wanted it to within a few minutes. The only downsides are that it needs you to use IE and needs you to keep the cookies from Xbox.com. Xbox Friends The next one I am going to be using is called Xbox Friends. By looking at the screenshots XBList and Xbox Friends look alike and they are very easy to set up and use. Ok you can download it HERE (Its on the right), You do need to join the site to download it and you will also need .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.0 installed. You can get it from Windows Update or directly from Microsoft. Ok so now you have the file download Double click on it to start the installer and read all the on screen info ![]() Now that the installer is all done you should have a link on your desktop. Double on the new icon to start Xbox Friends. Unlike XBList Xbox Friends asks you for your Email and Password for your gamertag so unlike XBlist you do not need to sign in to xbox.com to use it. ![]() After you have sign in and Xbox Friends has looked for any update you are all ready to go. It is really the same set up as before hover over a friends gametag and you get to see all their info but this time you get a bit more see below (fig3). Let’s use Sliver song again by hovering over his gametag you now get to see the last few games that his has play how his gamescore has been growing. ![]() The options on Xbox Friends are a lot more in depth but you don’t need them at all so I am to going to go to type up about then the one thing i would say in to change the theme as the default theme i a bit hard to read in some parts. Now after I play with them both for a bit I would say Xbox Friends is a lot better as you do not have to log in to Xbox.com but as all things in life not all people thing the same so I hope this help you all. I did all file an html file that will let you show your friends list on your desktop but I need to look in to that a bit more before I type that one up. So till then happy Gaming.
