Xbox: How to make a USB cable.

How to make a USB cable for your xbox.

Hello Xtreme-source ^^, I'm here today to show you how to make your very own USB cable for your unmodded/modded xbox.

You will need the following:
Xbox (orly?)
Xbox controller/extension cable.
Scissors
Duct tape
And if wanted a Soldering iron with solder.

First, we start off with cutting the FEMALE end of the USB cable with a large or small length of cable left attached to the female end. After cutting it you will need to cut the male end of the xbox controller/extension cable (the bit you plug into the xbox).
Xbox controller lead needed

Note: Use a useless or broken controller for this... or a cheap extension. Also cut a rather long amount of lead after the ps/2 looking join (the bit that snaps out).

Secondly, you will need to strip these wires EXCEPT the Yellow wire. The yellow wire is useless to us for this hardware. Assuming there should be Red, White, Green and black wires inside your USB cable strip all of them exposing bare wire. Then pick up your controller lead and strip the Red, Black, White and Green wires.

Note:
Red(5v+), Black(Ground), Green(Data+), White(Data-).

Third, having all wires stripped except for the Yellow wire.. we are ready to join the leads together. Now simply twist your wires together... making sure we match colour to colour... Simply means Red to red, black to black, green to green and white to white. Once you have done this you can EITHER solder your wires together making sure they stay together for a good length of time and covering the exposed wire and solder with Duct tape or you can simply twist them and cover the exposed wire with Duct tape (the way i did it was twisting and duct taping... i couldn't find dads soldering iron).

Fourth. Now that we have the wires joined together and all exposed wires are covered by duct tape seperatly. After you have done this wrap the join in duct tape, so the Join isnt too noticable.
Join taped up

Note: Make sure no wires are touching. eg, red touching black or green touching white.

Now you should have your very own usb cable ready to plug in just about anything you can via a normal usb port in a computer.
Modded xbox's have the advantage of being able to run linux or different sorts of operating systems and can use the usb port to plug in Keyboards and Mice.

Written entirely by me.
Thank you for reading.
