Setup mIRC for Xtreme-Source
In no time you will have access to our live channel via mIRC

What you need:
mIRC: Latest version 6.17 or mIRC: Previous version 6.16

Either of those along with this tutorial will get you on your way to LIVE chatting with member of this community in addition to many other options available via mIRC.

>Open mIRC & fill in your information
Name, Email, Nickname, & Alternate Nickname: Then click "OK".

> Select tools in the horizontal menu then select "Options"

> Now, in your mIRC options window, highlight "Servers" and select "Add"

> Now it's time to input our sites information...For ease of directions, follow the image below. Group is optional and will not effect the results of the channel you set up. Once the information has been input, click "Add"

> Your next window should look something like the one below. Now click "Connect to Server"

> Now you're on the server, the location where our channel exists.
All you need to do is add our channel #xtreme-source and you will be in our Live Chat Room within a second or two.

> Once you click "Connect to Server" the window below should popup, Select "Add"

> Just one thing needs to be added...our channel name:
#xtreme-source

> Once our channel name has been added, click OK

> Now you should see the window below with two options:
*Pop up Favorites on Connect: If selected, a window with pre-made selections and custom additions will show upon startup of mIRC

*Enable Join on Connect: The channel you're currently setting up will open automatically when mIRC starts.

We recommend #xtreme-source & #teammodders be the channel you set for "Join on Connect"

>Lastly, once you've clicked "OK"...You should see our chatroom open.
There are a lot of things that can be done within mIRC channels. There will be more guides to come that will help utilize mIRC to the best of it's ability.

> Keep an eye out for future guides on mIRC will include things like optimal settings for use, add-ons, small scripts, DCC (Direct Channel Connection), File Transfers, Live Chat & more...

Hope this one helps you ALL get started or refresh you on what you might not have seen in a while.

NOTE: For those of you using our sister site as well, TEAM MODDERS.com, access to the channel there is basically the same.
Use all the information above, BUT, where you typed #xtreme-source, make it #teammodders. Everything else is EXACTLY the same.

Yeah, I still have XChat loaded, and still plan on using it...unless mIRC is the "Holy Grail"!!

I've never tried XChat...mIRC has always done what I needed. I guess the only thing that would make one better than the other IMO would be the interface (the look) or transfer speeds. And we all know what depicts tansfer speeds. Anyway, I'm always up to try something new...I may give it a shot....one day

If you plan on using our channel, I recommend using some type of client. That is if you want all the capabilities a client can bring. If not, do like kam said...use the quicklink...get help and keep pressing.
