That's one of the things that turn away people is the Windows partition mounts. It can be done in ubuntu to a read only state.
here's aquote from a forum from another guy that was asking about mounting the drives. Quote:
You could always try making a small FAT partiton somewhere that both OS's can goto to transfer files back and forth. If your windows drive are something that you'll be going to alot,I would suggest using a distro like Suse since they mount the drives right out of the box. I also think Mandrake does that too.

Thanks man, I think I understood that.. it's been a long day, LOL.
I will definitely persevere with ubuntu, but if it gets too much I may swap to a different distro.. I have a xandros CD, and that looks pretty good http://www.madpenguin.org/Article811.html I want to learn as much as I can about linux and it's distros in general... just may take a while to get used to, LOL. It seems pretty good, i'm not knocking it at all.. it's just like when I first starting learning about computers(mainly dos and windows), you have a lot to read up on and get the hang of using. Thanks again, will let you know how I get on ![]() [edit] by the way, I didn't have any problems with it setting up networking etc so I could use the internet, it was all automatically done at login/install ![]()
