I dont fully remember, since its been awhile. But you would have to right click it and select format, and select a format.

It would be something like this,
Modify Your Partitions With GParted Without Losing Data | HowtoForge - Linux Howtos and Tutorials

But thats on resizing your partition. What you want to do is format it so you can start fresh. Gparted will not cause harm to your PC or HDD. All it does is a Harddrive tool, to resize, make, cut, format partitions.

So how do I decide what to format? And the best way to format what I decide?

Well, you dont really have to format. Deleting the partition is the best way, so there is no trace of any previous data.

So I delete everything?

If you only have one harddrive, yes. If you have more than one harddrive, make sure your deleting the right one.
