I (well my newphew) have a laptop that is using Edubuntu, and I'm trying to setup it up to be wireless by using Linksys but it does not open the files on the installation cd. The files are setup.exe and it isn't able to open it. So can anyone with me help this? PLEAS! Also, is there away that Edubuntu Luinx can be uninstalled and I can install Microsoft Windows XP?

He hates! this Edubuntu Luinx setup. Why is it so complicated. He REALLY needs something like Windows Xp or Windows XP itself. So PLEASE HELP ME.

Its a linux system, which is basically the opposite of windows. It does not open EXE files. What you need to do is google around for the laptop linux driver, and set up the network via through the Network Control panel. Or you can uninstall Edubuntu and install windows or another Linux.

To Install Windows XP or Vista, just get the Window CD, pop it in, restart the PC. Boot off CD, format and install! Done

OOOOOOOPS, okay i tried to upgrade the unbuntu system last nite. And it was stuck on installing the upgrade and it stayed and "40 minutes remaining" for 5 hours. Until I just shut down the laptop. Now nothing but a black screen comes up - HELP!

I Still Need Help People

You should be able to still run the computer. Get Gparted since its a good linux to format the harddrive, just incase somethings happen. Once you get gparted, you can pop it in and clear out the HD and start all over.

Ok I've downloaded Gparted. How would I go about burning and installing it?

After you burn Gparted image, pop the CD in it should auto load when you startup the PC. It will load up like windows, and you will see your harddrive and stats on it. Just format the HDD, and you can pop in ubuntu and reinstall it.
