Firefox 2.0.0.3-rar downloads

When I download a rar file - a box pops up -- " What should ff do with this file Open with winrar(default) - Save to disk - Do this automatically for files like this from now on. -- I tick the save to disk, but it will not let me tick the do this automatically. Is there anyway to list rar files in content file types? I didn't or don't have that problem with 2.0.0.1 ( I'm running 2.0.0.1 now). Thanks for any help.

My FireFox has never let me consistently do that either. I wouldn't worry about, just down and install the new one, or better yet stick with 1.5. FF 2.0 may well be the death of FireFox, at least for knowledgeable users. It's slower, less secure, and harder to configure than 1.5.

OK, Below is similar to what you have right now.

what you need to do is..

1) Click on another option, so that it enables the checkbox - check the checkbox.

3) click back on the "save to disk" option. Then OK

it should now do that for all rar files in future

[edit] if it doesn't work with a file, then use another rar file to enable that option.. the downloads section here is good for that

Fixed

The trick is to find the right web site to download a rar file from so it gets put on the list in the " Download Actions " box. I went to many sites! ( they kept listing them as zip files. ) anyway that box doesn't pop up when I download rar files anymore! The only add on I have is " Ad Block Plus ".

LOL - no worries man..

Just glad I could help you out with your prob

I might actually reset my FF back to 1.5 too, most times it's OK with 2.0.0.3, but it's a lot slower on startup even with prefetching enabled etc.. plus every now and then it just bugs out and quits on me - so time to go back to 1.5 I feel, lol
