Vista Home Premium Full - $219 on Amazon

Vista Ultimate Full - $329 on Amazon

Read the comments. 65% of people who rated Home Premium think it sucks. 58% of the people who rated Ultimate Full think it sucks. The remainder do not have good arguments as to why they think it's the cats nuts. Read some reviews for yourself, along with other sites and then make a decision.

I'd say stick with XP. Vista has massive software and driver incompatibility issues, a lot of the drivers and software you use on XP will likely not work with Vista. There are a lot of versions of Vista floating around, best to try one before sinking $300 into it.

I did the Vista Buisness and so far I like it. Dosen't have all the extra Media Componets that Premium and Ultimate have.

Once you get it under control and iron out the boot up programs and shut down what you don't use it is very similar to XP.

Also depends what you intend to use it for.

Why pay $300 for something that just ends up like XP in the end? That's just my opinion, perhaps Vista is usable with all the bloat removed and unnecessary services nixed, but it'll be cold day in Hades before I know.

I had forgotten to mention that I did not pay a dime for it. That was the only reason I tried it. No I would not have paid for it.

Just checking, sorry if my post was rude. I didn't mean to come off as "who in their right mind would use Vista?"
