do any of you guys know the differences between sp2 and this (link above) sp3? would you care to explain it to me.

Not familiar with the exact change log, however that is not the final SP3 but a release candidate. That means there might be bugs which have yet gone undiscovered. SP2 was a nightmare, particularly for networks and businesses when it was released. I would not touch a SP3 release candidate with a 10 foot pole. I will not update to the final SP3 until it is determined there are no major bugs, which considering this is Microsoft, there undoubtedly will be.

SP3 basically is all the last few updates and a few newer ones, security, and stability, squished into one package, it doesnt really change much in the way of functionality..

I'm running it on my older computer. Nothing wrong with it... So far I havn't had a problem. Although patching the 'uxtheme.dll' was a little harder then using the installer thing. I had to isntall it manually. So I could use the Vista theme.
But otherwise it fine
