System Recovery(Like in alot of HP's)

I have been thinking about this for a long time.
Unfortunatly i haven't found out how to do it.
I would like to know.
Is there a way to boot a windows xp pro installation off of a HD partition

Like in the boot.ini is there a way to make a new partition designated for windows xp pro installation and make a boot option to start the recovery?

Not sure about that, but you could create a bootable iso from an XP disc and boot if from a CD-R or flash drive and do about the same thing. A bootable XP disc will give you the option to format, so you can format your existing partitions and start from scratch.

There are programs such as Restore it, Driveclone, Norton Ghost, that does that.
