thats the X360 USB kit from team xecuter. This kit includes a connectivity kit. The connectivity kit itself doesn't allow you to connect to the sata port. This kit also only works on Hitachi drives so it would work for you LS if you got one of those.

From what I have heard from a distributer, they are waiting on final pricing and the final product. Seems xecuter had to do some last minute re-designs, but it shouldn't be much longer.

Cool, especially if the DVD-5 backups are in the works for the Hitachi drives.

That doesn't make any sense, modchips are legal in Australia. That guy was an idiot, and I woulda complained to his superior. In the future, probably best to not mention modchips to store people though.
To flash the Xbox 360, you need to hook a connectivity kit to the DVD drive and flash it with hacked firmware. You need to dissamble the 360 and hook up the DVD drive to a SATA connection on your PC. You use a command line program called mtkflash (I think that's what it's called). It's supposed to be pretty safe and simple, though I had Sadalius do mine.

You don't have to have a connectivity kit to mod the 360, but it makes it a whole lot easier to deal with. For Australians, try the Aussie Xecuter site: Xecuter Australia
It depends on what brand of DVD drive your 360 has as to how you flash it. Samsungs use the MTKFLASH while booted to a DOS disk. Hitachi's get flashed through a flashing tool in windows. As for software to use for making backups, Xbox Backup Creator is about the best I've used. I have uploaded the most recent version to our backup section so you can freely download it there. I don't know what DVD drive your 360 has or will have, but if it has a samsung, if you use the latest xtreme firmware, it supports single layer DVD's so that might make things a little easier for media. The hitachi hasn't progressed enough to support single layer disks, but I'm sure they will before too long.

Thanks Sadalius for the info. I haven't seen anyone at XS talk about their chipped 360. Everyone seems to be manually flashing. Is it because the chip is relatively new and people are probably for a true chip comes out? Does getting a chip now to flash on the fly ruin it for you if in the next year or 2 a true modchip is released? Just curious. All of the modhip sites I've visited sure talk up the current chips.

It's not that the chip ruins anything for future advancement, it's just that they are pretty much crap, unless they are installed by a pro or at least someone who knows what they are doing. When they are installed properly, they do the same exact thing that a flashed drive does. Only flashing doesn't require soldering and possibly bricking the drive. Not saying that a drive can't be bricked from flashing, just stands a higher chance of happening with unexperienced users maybe soldering to the wrong point or bridging something because of the very small solder points (smaller than a pin head). To most anyone that mods 360's on a regular basis, the preference would be to flash and not to chip. And alot of true 360 hackers consider the chips useless simply because it is easier to flash the drive rather than install the chip to get the same results. It's really a matter of a higher level of safety and attitude towards the chips versus flashing is all.
