The only way to test this 100% accurately, is to have 2 xbox 360 link to a PC running dual ethernet connection as a bridge, then have the bridge PC log both of the internet packets from the 2 xbox 360 (one being modded, and the other is legit), Playing the same game, ect... Then compare packets, figure out what is different, then you got your "illegal bytes" to patch up
![]() Just my 2 cents, I know this method works on most things, good chance it may work with the xbox 360 firmware and soon it maybe just be 100% legit; One of my project uses this method, and is flawlessly working :twist:

From what I understand, C4E has a "special" firmware that logs the queries that is sent to the drive. Using this, he can supposedly determine the methods of detection and patch accordingly. While this is good, it is a passive method. In other words, when MS changes something in detection, the firmware doesn't take the change into consideration until its too late. Then another updated firmware can be patched up and released. What this results in is a bunch of people getting banned of XBL before another updated firmware is released, causing those that want to play on XBL to have to buy yet another console to mod if they've already been banned or suspect that logs have already been submitted on them.
Please don't mis-understand what I'm saying as being negative towards the work that C4E and others are doing on this firmware. I think they have done an great job with what they have to work with. This is just simply how it works at the moment. The only way I see this working permanently is to figure out how to truly emulate the original firmware and 1:1 backups. I don't think that either is 100% possible. Again, I'm not being negative here, just trying to think realistically.

From what I know, the firmware can be hacked to a certain extent. Sooner or later MS will find a fool proof way, possibly a md5 sum check or CRC32, which I know is already in effect as default for the firmware. Making 1:1 backup would be iffy, since they probably use special flashed burners to burn copy protection sectors on the games, just like Star-Force, SecureRom, they are burnt with special drives. And are impossible to make 1:1 copy, unless having the special burner.
I think C4E, should just make the firmware for offline only, and place a disclaimer, use on XBL at your own risk.
