360 Making noise, Sign of death?

Just something I came across,

Anecdotal evidence about how many have suffered the "red ring of death", where the power button sticks on red, not green, is hard to assess because it is those with faulty boxes who make most noise, but Microsoft seems to have a problem.

Now im thinking maybe my xbox 360 could be next, it does make alot of noise, but I rarely do play it. Time will tell. If it does dies, I lost all hope for MS, and will reinstall my comp OS to Linux. :angle:

I've never heard any correlation between noisy boxes and Red Ring of Death. Having had both a Samsung and Hitachi drive, the Hitachi drive I had was much louder, and loaded differently than the Samsung drive. The drive spun up real fast to load games for the Hitachi, the Samsung is much quieter. It also could be because my 360 is flashed with Xtreme 5.2d which reads backups at 4x by default, as opposed to 12x with originals and backups on other firmwares/drives. Anyway, I don't think the noise has anything do with it, I think it's just how much the user plays it and if they end up with a "good" console so to speak.
