Looks as though the 360 modding scene will not get to see ixtreme firmware version 1.1 as adding additional stealth checks will bump it up to version 1.2.
The new checks will call for not only an accurate ss.bin, but also an accurate pfi and dmi, otherwise the backup will not boot. This might put some of the scene releases in a bind as most scene releases use the same PFI and DMI in there releases. It was thought that all games used the same DMI and PFI was what I can gather the reason was for doing them this way. It's been known for sometime that they could be different from not only game to game, but from certain press runs as well. I for one think this is a great way to go with it. Those that release scene releases will be forced to use the appropriate stealth files and provide backups that follow the proper guidelines. Not that I am supporting scene releases, to me it's about doing it right. As for hitachi owners, C4E states that once the 1.2 version for the samsung is done, he will devote 100% of his development time to the hitahci, so it looks like there is hope for the hitachi after all.

From this situation, I can relate. Its not a wild guess, more of a logical guess, since what else is on the original DVD. They are taking the chance to make sure all backup are as legit as it can get.

Well, you don't necessarily have to re-make them. If you don't play on live, you don't have to worry about it. If you do, then you just have to check them to see if they are properly stealth patched. Xdvdmulleter Beta 8 will check your backup from the disk so you don't even have to make an image of it, just put the disk in, check view iso details, hit next, click on from dvd-r tab, load it, and hit next. Tells you everything about that disk and whether or not it has everything.

Is Mulleter actually reliable in that area? Mulleter 7 was a beta in every sense, I don't think I'd try trust my XBL fate to that program. One hopes that XBC or Schtrom's will implement a XBL check of some kind.
