Forza 2.... Next Please

Dunno, I finally got around to playing it today. I wasn't really impressed. The visuals didn't seem on par with other racing games I've played on 360, and the controls were kinda annoying, just as super-realistic as the original. In fairness, I only played it for like 15 minutes, but I didn't see any reason to ever play it again.

I think for people into racing games, it's best to make a distinction: if you like super realistic handling, physics, upgrades and are really into cars, Forza is for you. If you like arcade-style racers, NFS might be a better fit.

I like both realistic racing and arcade style racing. I play both series of NFS and Gran Turismo. For GT I have a gaming steering wheel to work with, alot easier, and realistic, although I can still play without it.

Forza is for car enthusists (spelling) that appreciate reality, all about simulation. I like both acade and sim....but I much rather modify a car and it react in a realistic manner then the bs racing in NFS where any brain dead modification just keeps you on a level playing level as the AI.....might as well get rid of the modification system in that case.

yes the game is ok but i found very very boring it seems once you get to lv20 driver not much to look forward to, or did i miss something??? graphics ok but imo not worth £50 would rather grab gt4 for what 5-10 im guessing, its even worse with no live, cos you cant make real money becasue the cars you win you cant sell cos the game only give 100cr which i think is the most stuiped idea ever why cant you sell them, same as very other racing game, to help with your winnings, oh i know why cos its ms and they want us all on live in there auction house with are live subs, all the tracks seem the same, no real excitement, not being funny (dont take personally stang i know your love for the game but i do have an opinon) why the hell would i want to spend hour tuning a car, im pretty sure just walking straight into a game juming in the car pulling the r-trig and you are off,its isnt even fun with the steering wheel, out goes fonza2 in go pgr3, hole lot more fun (and looks nicer lol) thats me done

I'm really looking forward to GTA IV, perhaps Stang will post a similar thread then. :P

Personally i like Forza 2. I like both style of games for their own reason. The Arcade type like NFS are fun to race, no car damage, easy upgrade an tuning, and the races are fun and challenging without being impossible.

Forza 2 is more rear world so i am not great at it. I find some things to not only be too realistic but slightly exaggerated. Like rear wheel drive cars and mid engine cars. They turn like your riding on ice. I have had rear wheel drive cars at pretty good speeds around a corner and not once did the back wheels zip out from under me like they do in this game even at lower speeds. I have driven my old Mustang in plenty or snow storms and did not have as much of a problem as i do with this game. Now it may just be that i have no idea how to properly tune the cars. But they should never fly out from under you like they do in this game. Makes racing them at any speed more than just frustrating. I have no problems with the front wheel drive cars.

Guess i will have to have Stang give me some car set up tips for making them handle better, because the upgrades alone have no effect on how they handle at all.

Yeah i hear ya Steimy, at times the physics seems a little twisted. Buying the upgrades is not enough in the case of most RWD and mid engine rides, you actually have to tweak damper, toe, accel/decel differential etc before you stand a chance in hell in the harder races. Gets a bit frustrating at times, so when in doubt....import AWD!!!!!!
