Hitachi iXtreme firmware Released!!!!

C4EVA iXTRM HITACHI v1.2 Stealth and Xbins Xbox Live Logger

>> A new firmware has been released for the Hitachi-LG GDR-3120L dvd-rom unit for the xbox360 ..
Quote:
Defeats all current and some future Xbox Live detection attempts.

Thanks to all the beta testers, everyone involved for without their effort this would not have been possible. Keep up the good work everyone. Thanks also go to Fuzzylogic and GAryOPA. Always recommended: If your drive is flashed USE A RESTORE FIRST (Use the restore included on this package)
Two Commands (for flashing use only one: FlashIX):
FLASHIX.BAT: Flashes your drive with iXtreme 1.2 Fw Stealth (Media Detect 2,and Firwmare Stealth, (NO F900 Core)
RESTORE.BAT: Return your drive to original State, even if you have
firmware stealth in your drive
*RECOMENDATION: If you have flashed your drive in the past use RESTORE
first. If it is a brand new drive use directly the Flash command you
like.

I would like to note that while this release contains all retail versions of the hitachi, v78 users will currently not be able to flash until fw toolbox is updated, or another program is created to flash that version. v79 is also included, though can only be flashed externally with a tsop programmer (or until a software solution is created). This firmware is released to the public tested, though we do expect bugs, as with any project. Please post in the forums to let us know your results.

Xbins Xbox Live logger!

We have organized a small project to keep our page here updated with (almost) daily logs of commands being initiated while connected to xbox live. This will let the public be aware of exactly what is going on with the security involved, and possible new detection routines created. Enjoy!

I still laugh, because they don't know exactly what MS is using to detect backups on Live. So when they say it defeats all current XBL detection attempts, that is not a true statement. I believe they have a fair idea, but that statement says to me 100% safe, which it obviously is not.

Lol, good deal man, lemme know what happens. I dunno, maybe they really do have all the fixes, I don't want my posts to come off as doubting C4E or Garyopa, those guys have forgotten more about the 360 then I'll ever know, and we are all grateful for their efforts. I just don't know how accurate the defeats all XBL detection methods part is. I wonder what Sadalius thinks.

My impressions are that they are pretty accurate. Is it 100%? I can't say for sure. I do know that they have a special firmware that logs all requests from Microsoft to the DVD drive. This is how they came up with the Xbins Xbox Live Logger. You can see exactly whats being requested of the drive, but what I don't see is how they can tell where something isn't right. There isn't any examples of that and thats why I don't mess with this type of stuff, just use the results of it

My theory on why some people got banned and some people didn't is quite simple now. If we can take into account that ixtreme os 100%, then we can say that xtreme was pretty darn close and that the only thing was the types of backups people were running (non-stealth versus stealth). Also I have to consider the fact that the bannings were done by hand. Which means gamer1 may not have done as much to get noticed as say gamer2 did. It was almost as if Microsoft was saying, "Come on modders, if your going to play backups, get the science of creating them down or we'll ban you." or something.
