Recently a rumor about Halo 3 has surfaced stating that if you play Halo 3 before September 26 then you will have your xbox 360 account frozen.
Well according to this article it clearly states this ban is not true... Microsoft issues official statement over Halo 3 banning By James Orry - 19/09/2007 - 7:02pm GMT Following a memorable day which saw UK retailer Argos selling Halo 3 to consumers a week before release, and Microsoft seemingly willing to ban gamers from Xbox LIVE for playing the game, Microsoft has issued an official statement which should put the debacle to bed. "We can confirm that Microsoft is not taking any action (such as banning Xbox Live accounts) against gamers who are playing Halo 3 before the official street date. Any rumours or speculation to the contrary are false," reads the statement issued by Microsoft this evening. Halo 3 is scheduled for release in North America on September 25, across Europe on September 26 and in Japan on September 27. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I take no credit for the article from microsoft |

A new update was released today though. MS claims that it only adds support for the big button controllers that will be used with the new game "Scene it". Others are skeptical because it was a small update with the gen 1 xbox that started the ban hammer dropping and people dropping like flies. Maybe nothing to it, but you never know.
