Modded 360 Question

I currently have 2 Xbox 360s one Core and one Premium

The Core one is fully upgraded with a Hard Mod
The Premium is soft modded with the lastest firmware as of last week

Both are Samsung 25's for the drive

was wonderng if there was anyway as of "yet" to beable to ftp or access the hdd from the computer and ftp the iso backups to it instead of burning DL discs

Anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Thanks for any help

Nah it's not supported as of yet. My guess is with the current state of 360 hacking, it will be quite awhile before this is possible, if ever. You can use a program called 360 Explorer to transfer items back and forth with XSATA, but games and such are out of the question. Who knows, with stuff like Oblivion which saves the expansion pack to the 360 HD, maybe hackers can build off that to learn how to run games off the HD. This is XSATA: XSATA - The Ultimate XB360 Hard Drive Space Saver...

Thanks man, so this would allow me to do basically what the media center option does on the 360 essentially right? just faster and what i want to transfer over into the "music, pictures, and movies" folder correct?

Well it would allow you to transfer files back and forth between the 360HD and your PC, like game saves, media files, etc. If you just want to move media files, you can stream them over a network, the XSATA is really only worthwhile if you want to backup/transfer your game saves or something.

Well thats kind of a useless tool right now lol... especially if you have an elite where you could transfer tons of back up iso files.. if that was a possibility :P.. maybe some day

Yeah honestly most people I know that use it used it to cheat to get MS Achievement points, back before they cracked down on cheating. It's not really that necessary, I dunno if it could be used to update roster files for sports games for non-XBL users. That's about the only legit use I can think of, aside from backing up/transferring game saves.

I don't really like the Achievement points tbh, just seems like another way for MS to make money. Online play should be free, I will never pay-to-play.

so i take it you dont have XBOX live then? its better then paying for each individual game like most big online games are on PC depending on what kind of online games you like ...for example on pc like WOW, and EVE and such... but im more into FPS.. compared to PS and Ninetendo Live is definately the way to go id find.. but yah i see your point.. your already dishing out so much for the system and games and all that it does get expensive... so i guess if there ever comes a hack for live youd be all over that eh lol.. :P

Nah I don't use Live. I've heard XBL rocks compared to PS3 online, but still, I'd much rather it be free for online play. I don't need demos and trailers available for download, those can be found a lot of places. If I did go online with 360, it'd be through Leaf Networks or similar products to play with a friend. It's free, and I don't have to worry about what Ted from Alabama is doing on his Xbox Live Vision camera at 4AM.
