I have a 360 game that's in .nrg format and I know that I can burn it with img burn or nero but I definitely prefer only to use clone cd. Is it possible for me to create a .dvd file and burn with clone cd or does a .dvd file only incorporate with .iso?

My main point 2 this: Can you use a .dvd file with an .nrg and will clone cd burn it?

-p.s. I should have asked this question here originally cause x-source people are the smartest and the rest of the forums are whacked

a .nrg is a Nero image. Depending on how it was created, it should be safe to burn with Nero. the nrg is of a different format than an iso, so creating a .dvd file and burning with clonecd wouldn't work simply because clonecd doesn't know how to burn nrg files. You might could use something like isobuster or magiciso to convert it to .iso, but I don't know if it would maintain file structure integrity.

Basically, you should burn it with either Nero or imgburn, or "re-rip" the game into an iso.

Yeah you definitely don't want to convert it to an iso with Ultraiso or the like, that's a coaster waiting to happen. Manually create a dvd file and burn it with ImgBurn. To manually create a dvd file, create a new text file and copy and paste this code this inside:

Code:
Game.nrg
LayerBreak=1913760
In place of Game.nrg type the name of the game exactly. I.E. Juiced 2.nrg

Then go to file-->save to save the text file. Rename the text file to a file with a dvd extension. Make sure hide extensions for known file types is unchecked in Windows. To do that in explorer go to tools-->folder options-->view and uncheck the option to hide extensions for known file types. Then click apply and ok.

Then rename the dvd file to match the name of the game exactly. In this case, Juiced 2.dvd

Finally load the dvd file into ImgBurn and burn it at 2x or 4x.

My first 25 (360) games have all been .dvd/.iso and with my pioneer 112-d+ clone cd haven't bricked yet. When I came across a .nrg I wasn't 100% sure if a .dvd could work with .nrg but now I know it can.

- I appreciate the help
