Hmm think i had 3 red lights :(

Hey all, Im sure the other day i had rrod console just shut down and im sure it was flashing 3 red lights, I wasnt even doing anything turned it on sat in dash for 5mins or so, rebooted and all seemed fine , after i left it on for about 45mins and all fine, Used it again today for 2hr no problem.

Do you think i had 3 red lights or just saw 3 in a panic?

Was it definitely 3 red lights? If all 4 lights are lit, The A/V cables are loose or damaged. When you get the Red Ring of Death, it is 3 red right lights that light up, the upper right quadrant is not lit.

If it's the A/V cable error, make sure it's plugged in snugly or try another A/V cable.

I'd say don't panic. If the error is definitely the 3 red lights, unplug the all cables from the console and TV for about a minute. Then plug it all in and see if the error persists. If you still get the RRoD, try and get the 360 to spit out an error code. At least that way you can get an idea what the problem is and how to fix it.

360 Error Codes:

Then you will have to fix it yourself or track down someone that may be able to attempt an X-clamp fix. My 360 recently had an error 110 which can be remedied by using the heatgun method on the RAM chip. I sent it to someone, and now it's working, in the mail on its way back.

Error 110 is typically fixed with the heatgun method on the memory chip. The person who repaired my 360 did that, fitted it with an X-clamp, performed the fan shroud mod and 12v fan mod. It was working before they shipped it, hopefully the US Postal Service doesn't change that lol.

There's no telling how long it will actually last, in theory it could last indefinitely if there is no other hardware failure. I will be a guinea pig for the X-clamp and heatgun method reliability lol.
