Converting Videos to play on XBOX 360

Ok well here's some things I have tried... Downloaded the files for some movies.. copied to sony memory stick, used psp to connect to 360, file would not open, unsupported codec. Tried converting to Video [DivX-9600kbps]; Audio [Mp3-256kbps] using Magic Video Converter. File Type WAS Xvid. Does this work?-> Make Sense? Little new at this stuff, actually really new, doing my best from forums like these and my comprehension. Well that first Idea= NO good. So.. tried Blaze Media Pro, Re-Converted to AVI WMV file, Copied to memory stick... psp->Xbox360 = hold please... FAIL. Ok, Unsupported Codec... Status Code from 360: 80-C00DF242. Soon I will have a router to eliminate the hassle with the MS and PSP, but still not getting the 100%GOAL accomplished. Any Suggestions? Tip's? All Ears....

The router is the best idea, that way you can stream supported media from your PC to your 360 through Windows Media Connect or transcode on the fly with TVersity. Here's a guide for TVersity:

Here is a guide for streaming with Windows Media Connect:

Transcoding on the fly is CPU intensive and will not output to HD resolutions. Streaming is better if the files you want to view are supported by the 360.
