My xbox is driving me insane, every time I try to turn it on, the light comes on than it shuts off for a second or two. Then it comes on and shuts off and it starts to flash green and red. Occasionally i can get it running after trying multiple times and once it turns on i need to set the clock and date, but it was always plugged in. any help on that?

my guess is power suply.

Or power cord. Mine did that and it ended up being a bad power cord so i got another 1 at radio shack.

even if you have an old dreamcast laying around...just shave the squared side a bit and it should work.

Is it a stock Xbox, or is it modded?

No mods on it ... Yet

Few months back I got a now cord from Microsoft (some kind of recall) it didn't fix the problem. so what do I do

hard drive failing maybe.....I had a xbox that the hard drive was failing on. It would only boot up if you caught it at the right time of the hard drive spindown. I ended up fixing it by modding it and replacing the hard drive.

I never got the frag though....

If a friend has a power supply you can borrow to test on your xbox, go that route to see in your power supply is bad. If not, I suggest going on eBay to get a replacement power supply.

So how do I swap a hard drive and mode it?
