I need help with tEChniiQue's guide to soft modding. Can anyone explain to me how steps 10 - 12 works exactly in tEChniiQue's guide to soft modding with SID.Splinter.Cell.v2.0.NTSC.Xbox-Hq? I have everything all working great but I want to enable the Ms dashboard in the menu so i can access the soundtracks and whatnot. The tut says to delete files from the c drive and install the latest ms dash then use the Patch MS 5960. I am just confused with the whole deleting the c drive and installing ms dash part. Do you do this from the install menu where the Patch MS 5960 is loacated?

If you have a working softmod on your xbox...the answer should be simple. Not sure if you've ever heard of Auto Installer Delux but it truly has just about every piece of software you'd need on your system including the M$ Dash.

You'll see, it's really simple. It takes the "would be" difficult part out of adding more dashboards, patching, etc...and makes it a one click affair. Burn it to a DvD and boot it in your XBOX and you'll see what I mean. There are dashboards, emulators, and other apps very useful to your system. It even makes it to have a dashboard like XBMC with the click of a button. Seriously, it really is that easy Hints: "Auto Installer Deluxe" is the name :wink:

ok i was soft modding my xbox and i turned on splinter cell then i went to start game. i clicked on linux then i clicked checkpoints then the screen went black and in like 10 different languagues it tells me to get costumor service for help. i can still play games but i cant get to my dashboard the screen goes all fuzzy and and the light on my xbox goes red someone plz help me A.S.A.P. thx my email is [Email Deleted] hellpppp plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

There is something wrong with your dashboard files. Either missing, corrupt, or other unknown issue. I actually have an XBOX that had a similar issue. I'm going to chip it to solve it hopefully. You on the other hand should start low and work your way up. By that I mean less expensive methods.

First thing you should try is to load an original game that has Live Enabled. Then try to launch XBL "Xbox Live" it should do a dash update for you in the process and restore what is missing from your dashboard.

Another method you could try is to load AutoInstaller Deluxe (if it will load). You said disc will play. I'm not sure if they are backups or original but if they are backups...you may be in luck. Odds are slim though if your dash isn't loading but well worth a shot.
Auto-Installer Deluxe and Slayers 2.6 are very good options for this problem.
