SO if you don't use xbox for games what do you use? I use pc for the rest of the stuff.

Yeah, personally speaking I think that if the xbox didn't have homebrew stuff like XMBC etc then it wouldn't have had such a big impact on the modding community... I play backup games AND use homebrew apps etc on mine, but I doubt I'd have bought one just to play games to be honest

That's another reason I doubt I'll be buying a 360 anytime soon... would rather wait for a modchip that'll let you use homebrew apps etc as I hate having tons of appliances in front of my TV to do different things.

i think microsoft gave up on the xbox cause they were losing too much money through piracy.as for microsoft making no sence they have too much money to play with.its like chris rock said in his never scared dvd "if bill gates woke up with the money oprah has he'd jump out the window of a building and slit his throat on the way down".

I went to my friends house today to play the wii and I can't belive xbox has better grahpic than the wii. But wii sells a lot cause it's fun. It's about games microsoft not always about graphic.

I don't really think piracy had much to do with it. MS actually did a survey several years back and from the results they concluded less than 1% of people who own consoles pirate games. Really, how many of your friends know about modchips, softmods, backups, etc? My friends only know about it because of me.

I agree, No one knows about mod xbox. The war isn't between xbox 360 vs ps3. IT's xbox 360 vs ps2. If i were microsoft i would fight last gen with last gen. cause of the price but that's just me. not to mention xbox has better grahpic;-)

The only reason i got my xbox about 3 years and some month's ago was after i realized all the other cool stuff you could do with all these homebrew apps and underground STUFF that really made it something more interesting than just playing the games. As a result I am an XBMC Fiend and doubt that I could remain sane if I did not have it. lol
It's more than basic and you can advance the development yourself at your own pace. there are so many different aspects to the mod scene and i think a great majority of modders and enthusiasts would say if not for xbox my life would be very different. Some good some bad, some more sleepless nights type of stuff.
Porting the 360 games to the xbox1 i think would defeat the purpose of trying to ween us off of the xbox and get all of us playing the 360. Although there are a few ports from 360 to 180 already and they seem quite stable and impressive graphics wise, money wise it doesn't make sense for MS to put out the best new stuff at devalued prices just for the 180 fans out there. That's where Sony and MS differ i believe. That for me is the definig difference between the two giants of the 21st century of gaming. MS will spend spend spend to keep up and gain what little expensive groung they can all for their big picture in the long run.
whereas Sony is the big picture so to speak, the granddaddy now and they know that and they flaunt it and it makes the competition mad and sometimes the competition will **** up because of this. Like Sony said to MS "Hey watch this crossover and MS says "What crossover?" and Sony is at the hoop Slam dunk! I don't like s**tting on MS but they must know this!

FINALLY MAN WOW... i was jus thinking of starting a thread like that... anywayz Microsoft DID stop making games for xbox, y in hell for example would NBA live 08 not come out on xbox (meanwhile its out for ps2), xbox is now left with only crappy games that nobody realy plays... who will ever play madden... or NCAA football... i feel bad for my xbox lol

It's not because the 360 is reliable, it'll fry at the drop of a dime lol. I agree MS should've supported it longer. Sony still supports the PS2, though they almost have to, the PS3 doesn't have a solid enough market to singlehandedly support their console division as yet. I will say it's a very nice system, if they just backed it with better PR and got some more exclusives, I think it will emerge as the console of choice from this generation.
