Exclamation Few Questions

I read somewhere that the Xbox can play emulators almost flawlessly is this true? if so i plan on buying an xbox just to play emulators preferably SNES, MAME, GBA, N64 and any other emulator out there for the xbox. I've read around the forum and i found out that you can FTP them to the Xbox is this hard do i need to open the xbox or do i need a mod-chip first?

It's true, you can play emulators from the xbox!! However, it will need to be modded first. You can either do this by softmodding or with a chip. If you were to softmod it, you wouldn't even have to open the box. Here is a tutorial on softmodding your xbox: http://www.xtreme-source.com/tutoria...sid-4-0-a.html

Not unless you want to put a chip in it. Those are the only two ways!

1.0-1.5 can be done with an onboard TSOP flash, which is kind of a grey area between a hard and softmod. AND has been done without opening the case [on 1.2-1.5 boxes only because the bridge points are both on the top of the mobo] by using 2 coathangers as bridges until the flash has been done.

You still need to get the game disk, and if you don't have AR...you can use a memory card and if you know someone with a modded box you can use that to transfer the files to the memory card via FTP.

Easiest way is the softmod,as well it's the easiest way to mess up your xbox. The chips are getting easier to install, but can still make someone hesitate to mod their box if they don't want to open the case or do some moderate soldering. Since the 1.6a and 1.6b have done away with the onboard TSOP chip....the method I mentioned has been almost forgotten by the new breed of modders.

To be honest,I have done both the chip method and the TSOP flash method...and I still prefer the TSOP flash over the chip. I won't even touch the softmod method because of all the horror stories that I've heard over the years.

No, they have to be original discs... for the simple fact that if an xbox could read copied discs from stock then you wouldn't need to softmod/modchip it in the first place.. common sense really.
