I tried messing with this thing... it seemed like a POS to me. My PC, Qwix, and all my xbox apps have no trobule "seeing" my Xbox, but this app would not see it at all. When I checked it out, I got some info from this thread: Scenyx Entertainment Community > Custom Soundtracks Question - Mp3s, Ftping, Etc...
Apparently the files have to be in wma format and in the e:\TDATA\fffe0000\music directory From what I was reading, they have to either be added through an app like Xbox Soundtrack Editor, or ripped through the MS Dash in order to be accessed in games which allow custom soundtracks. Adding tracks manually via FTP to that directory isn't supposed to work from what I read in the thread I linked to, something about the Xbox categorizing the audio files into database files and not recognizing tracks without a db file in their folder, etc. So you can try and troubleshoot Xbox Soundtrack Editor, or just rip your CD's manually through the MS Dash. The problem is, depending on which model DVD drive you have, your Xbox may not read CD-R's well or at all.

I have used this and it never gave me any troubles. I just rip the tunes to wma using dbpoweramp and then transfered them to my xbox using the app we're talking about.

Hmm, the way that error message reads, it could just mean that Xbox Soundtrack Editor scanned your Xbox songs directory and didn't find any soundtrack info. So you could try ripping your songs to wma and transferring them to your PC. Windows Media Player is capable of ripping songs to wma, just select wma and the bitrate output in the rip tab, it's very easy.

Well XBMC or UnleashX will support music in any folder. From what I've read, I'm guessing that you need to rip your audio to wma, and then try transferring it to to your Xbox with Xbox Soundtrack Editor. During the transfer process, I'm guessing it will create a db file which is necessary for the Xbox 1 to load in-game soundtracks where supported. The second part is a theory, I never really found any guides on using XSE.

I got it working on my setup, the problem was an incompatibility with XBMC. I ripped some songs to wma with WMP 11. Then I loaded XSE with UnleashX and it found my soundtrack directory and transferred the songs no probs. Then I loaded the songs in San Andreas and they played fine. I think they only play while driving. Here's a guide, use EvoX, UnleashX, or Avalaunch to get it working, not XBMC.
