Xbox is no longer supported by anyone, even MS. I cant recall when MS made the statement about it, but they did announce it.

I've seen NCAA Football 2008 for the original Xbox selling for $50, no idea if any other sports titles made it out this year. Did a quick search on gamespot, looks like NCAA 2008 and Madden 2008 are the only sports titles released on Xbox 1 for 08. It's better than nothing.

I agree with you, the Xbox is still very much alive thanks to the homebrew community. If you look at the recent incarnations of the major sports franchises on Xbox 1/PS2/GC since EA and Visual Concepts shifted focus to the seventh gen systems, all the games are just pallet swaps with roster updates. They haven't added any new features to the Xbox 1/PS2/GC sports games in years. Since all they do is port last year's version and slap a new label on the box, they might as well do it for Xbox 1 as well.

You can also tell by going to an online store like EB Games, they do not even have a "recent release" or "upcoming releases" section under Xbox anymore.
Guess it is time to upgrade.

Microsoft still could have made some hardware changes with the Xbox, similar to what Sony did with the PS2 and made a smaller and more compact version. Even though I have seen some fan-made Xbox slims out there, I would be satisfied if the Xbox was remade into something smaller.

Pretty unlikely though, the Xbox 360 sells enough to where MS doesn't have to support the Xbox 1, they can live off Windows and the 360 fine if no one ever buys another Xbox 1. Sony backs the PS2 more out of need. Sony put so much time and money into the Cell, blu-ray, and the PS3, and they lose about $200 per console sold for the PS3. The PS3's sales around the world have been disappointing, it's still far behind the Wii and 360 in units sold. The PS2 still has titles actively released because people still buy PS2's; it gives Sony a chance to recoup some of the money lost from the PS3.
