Exclamation have i killed my xbox

Can anyone help me. i tryed to be a hero and change the desktop from unleashed to evolution x even thought i didn't really know what i was doing so i caould start "backing up" games using the tutorial but had to run the nkpatcher. I thought i had reinstalled the new desktop but when i restarted it all i got was the call customer support screen. It still plays original games but nothing else i don't have the stuff to reinstall. Do i have to start from scratch or can this be salvaged?

is it hard moded or soft modded?
If it is soft modded and you have no way to access the files to fix them then you may have to do a hotswap and reformat the drive.

If it is hard modded then you may have two choices:
1. try using Slayer EvoX Auto Installer to install a dashboard and see if that works.
2. Use Slayer to format the drive and reinstall everything.

Once you have formatted it then you need to do the softmod again. Once you get that all done and working you'll be good. The AID program (Auto Installer Deluxe) will have most of the things you need on it. And can easily install them for you. I advise against installing the Linux program (DSL-Damn Small Linux) though, that can really mess people up.

I believe that the newest AID also contains SID (Softmod Installer Deluxe) so you should have everything you need with that one program. The download section above also has the game saves needed to do the softmod if you do not have them.

Personally i know AID may be easier for most people. But the way i like to do it is to just use SID (bottom of above page), after the softmod is done and will read back up discs. Then go to a download site (you know where) and get a copy of Slayer 2.7 and use that to install the dashboards and programs. I just like the way Slayer works better than AID but that is just personal preference.
