Xbox Having Random Restarts

I am running a softmodded Xbox with the dashboard "UnleashX", lately I've been getting random re-starts but I have come to find out when it re-starts. It re-starts most of the time when I try to edit an icon for an emulator, when I go to edit Icon, it will work the first time, then the second or third time, it will randomly re-start. When I say re-start I don't mean the Xbox does, the dashboard does.

UnleashX is set to auto abort on errors. Most likely the edit icon function isn't completely worked out. It's a pretty stable dash, I've rarely had issues with it. You could try updating to the most recent version of the dash if you haven't already. This seems pretty close to the issues you are having: Using Edit Mode To Change Icons In Nested Menus Crashes Xbox - Scenyx Entertainment Community

I'll try updating the Dashboard to the latest version if it isn't already.

Be careful when updating the dash with a softmod, especially if it's your main dash. It's pretty easy to do, but you need to be careful that the xbe matches what your bios is set to boot from.

1. Download the latest UnleashX.

2. Decompress the rar files with Winrar.

3. Transfer the dash files to the partition of the dash you wish to update via FTP. Click overwrite all in your FTP client if prompted.

4. Make sure the xbe with the new dash files matches the xbox executable your bios is set to boot. In other words, if the dash you are updating is located in the root of the C partition and the xbe is named evoxdash.xbe make sure that you rename the xbe contained in the dash files you downloaded to evoxdash.xbe

If you don't do that, you may get boot errors, especially if UnleashX is your main dash. Sometimes when you download a dash, the xbe contained may not match the xbe of the dash you wish to update. In other words, you need to rename the xbe from the dash files you downloaded to match the xbe which boots your current dash. So if your current UnleashX boots from evoxdash.xbe

You will need to rename the default.xbe that came with the UnleashX download to evoxdash.xbe and transfer it to the same directory containing the dash you wish to update.

Ok, I have come to find out that I do indeed have the latest version already installed. I appreciate the guide and I will use it when I need to. I found out, from visiting Xbox-Scene, of ways that I can bypass the error, this method seems to work fine for me.
