i read on another forum that you can uninstall xmbc by ftping to your xbox and deleting every file in all of the drives. then your xbox will return back to the original xbox startup menu. does that actually work?

Ok, well please answer my questions, I can not give you an accurate answer with incomplete information.
Is your Xbox soft modded or do you have a modchip installed? Is XBMC your main dash (does your Xbox boot right into it when you turn it on) or do you run it as an app? To run it as an app, you need to access it through a dash menu, in other words you would have to manually access it through a menu, your Xbox doesn't automatically boot into it when you startup. Please answer those questions and I can give you an idea of how to proceed.

sorry for the freakin late reply... ive been very busy and never got time and almost forgot about it too. anyways heres is my system info
everything that i think that might be important and useful to u... kernel version: 1.0.5028.1 hdd model: ST310211A hdd firmware: 6.55 hdd state: locked dvd model: THOMPSON-DVD dvd firmware: 1.24 video encoder: CONNEXANT xbox version: v1.0 modchip: Hynix HY29F080 Unknown/Onboard TSOP (protected) detected bios: Unknown! Add.MDS from log to BiosIDs.init cpu speed: 733.30 Mhz xbox manufacturer: Mexico 2001 ... oh and during startup usually it goes directly to xmbc and usually i cant even start any game, not even real non copied games. if i do get a game running which is very rare, it glitches alot and i get an error in a red box after a few min saying that the disc is either dirty or damaged. You could try clearing your E-->CACHE directory and make sure your clock is set correctly. That sometimes is a quick fix. Will DVD movies play okay, or are the dirty disc errors just with games?

Well my first thought is your DVD-ROM drive laser is dirty or damaged. Test it with some movies in good condition and see if the errors persist.
