Hi Guys,

I am trying to make a sticker for my car ... and my problem is, I am not that good with Photoshop .... I know the basics but that's about it.

I need help with the following:

* I have all the graphics and pictures I need ...
* I need to place a picture into an outline .... what I mean by that is, I want to put a picture into a shape - I have created a layer and on that layer I now have an outline of a shape. I now want to put a picture into that shape.

Can anyone please tell me how I would go about doing that and where do I need to click.

I know how to do it in Corel Draw, but I'm working in Photoshop.

I can supply a picture of the shape I created and I can then try and explain a little more ... if needed.

Hopefully I'm understanding this right...

You have a created shape outline and a pic (that is a different shape) that you want on the inside of the outline...right?

If so, just put each on a different layer (pic below outline). Make sure that the pic is placed where you want it to be and don't worry about it sticking out the sides. Then, select the outline layer and select the magic wand tool. Click on the outside of the outline, then click on the pic layer and press delete. That should make it so your pic is cleanly inside the outline.

EDIT:

It is exactly what I was looking for but for some reason it didn't work ....... I followed your instructions to the T and when I press delete, nothing happens. The little hour glass (egg timer) shows, as if its busy, and then a second or two later no change.

I failed to mention that previously I was messing around and I made my outline into a smart image/layer ..... thinking that would help me with what I wanted. I think that I managed to take that setting back but I'm not sure.

Can you please help?
