ATI or Nvidia?

Who's the GPU king... ATI or Nvidia? I went with ATI, since I opted for a Crossfire chipset and a Sapphire Radeon 3870HD for my new build. No disappointments so far, video quality is excellent and managing my second desktop through ATI Catalyst is a snap. What about you guys?

Nvidia, im all about power. I stepped away from ATI a few years ago after they made the 1950xt. It was a good card, but after that Nvidia boomed over ATI, so I chose a different side.

Also, all the big gaming companies (Xbox, XBox 360, PS3) uses Nvidia, Nintendo favors ATI.

I tend to go with the company that my mobo went with for a chipset.

So either way works....although I still do hate Ati drivers.

I did have some issues after updating to the most recent Catalyst, it didn't want to detect my primary monitor, then when I tried to switch my primary to secondary and clone it from my prime I got all kinds of annoying errors, so I said a bunch of expletives and went back to the Catalyst that came on the driver disc, and I really haven't had any issues since, except when I tried to overclock it, which was purely user error.

I has similar probs with mine LS....

The thing is you have to un-install your previous version first, then install the new version... mine works fine now that I found that out, but to be honest there's not much has changed between the versions that I can see anyway, so may be better off to leave it alone.

Yeah I'mma leave it be for now, when I updated to the new one it took me awhile to get it sorted, and I was cursing up a storm and getting really pissed. This one works great, no complaints at all.

Oh, been meaning to say Paddy, I've been using Jet Audio for videos the last week or so and it's brilliant! For the life of me I could not get a video to go full screen on my TV in clone mode, Jet Audio was the only player which would allow to me fullscreen videos and correct aspect ratios and stuff on the fly. I use a Logitech Wirless Mouse as a media remote and it works great!

Yeah, I've been using jetaudio for about 2 years or so now and it's always been up to whatever task I wanted to do.... even been trying to convert you guys to it for a while now but got no takers until now, lol - glad you've tried it and liked it man, I too found that it's the only app that will go full-screen and give great results on HDTV playback - I use it in extended desktop mode mostly though, so then I can do other stuff while watching some TV or whatever.
The other thing about jetaudio is that if you try and playback a file it's not familiar with, it'll ask you if you want to download and install the required codec to play it (most of the time that is) - files that jetaudio wil play (that I've found) are:-

AVI(DIVX,XVID),WMV,MPG,FLV - yes it will even play your FLV video files, that I've found sooo useful so I haven't got to have a 3rd party app to just play those youtube vids

It's handled everything I've thrown at it, including real, mkv, XviD, wmv. It's definitely a really good media player.
